Credit Bureau Reporting
Credit Bureau Reporting — Metro2
Catchpole generates Metro2-compliant credit bureau reports for submission to the three major bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
What is Metro2?
Metro2 is the standardized format required by credit bureaus for reporting consumer credit data. It ensures consistent, accurate reporting across all creditors and collection agencies.
How It Works
- Navigate to Credit Reporting
- Select the claims to include in the report
- Review the data for accuracy
- Generate the Metro2 file
- Submit to the credit bureaus
Report Contents
Each Metro2 record includes:
- Consumer identification — name, SSN, address
- Account details — account number, type, status
- Balance information — current balance, original amount
- Payment history — payment pattern and dates
- Status codes — current account status (open, closed, collection, etc.)
- Special comments — dispute indicators, compliance codes
Compliance Features
- Data validation — the system checks all required fields before generating
- Dispute indicators — disputed accounts are automatically flagged
- Legal hold compliance — accounts with legal holds are handled appropriately
- Audit trail — every report generation is logged
Best Practices
- Report monthly to maintain accurate credit bureau records
- Review data before submitting — corrections are time-consuming
- Ensure disputed accounts are properly flagged
- Keep records of all submissions for compliance audits
