Payment Plan Proposals
Payment Plan Proposals
Payment plans let debtors pay off their balance in structured installments. Catchpole manages the full lifecycle — proposal, acceptance, tracking, and follow-up on missed payments.
Creating a Payment Plan
From a customer’s detail view or the collector dashboard:
- Click Payment Plan or Create Plan
-
Configure:
- Total amount — the balance to be paid
- Number of installments — how many payments
- Frequency — weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
- Start date — when the first payment is due
- Payment method — how payments will be made
- Review the calculated schedule
- Submit the proposal
Payment Plan Proposals Dashboard
Navigate to Payment Proposals to see all proposals:
- Proposed — sent to debtor, awaiting acceptance
- Accepted — debtor agreed, payments in progress
- Completed — all installments paid
- Defaulted — debtor missed payments
- Cancelled — plan was cancelled
Installment Tracking
Once a plan is active:
- Each installment has a due date and amount
- Payments are automatically matched to installments
- Missed installments trigger notifications
- The system tracks overall plan progress
Self-Service Plans
Debtors can set up payment plans through the Customer Payment Portal without needing to speak to a collector.
Best Practices
- Offer realistic installment amounts based on the debtor’s history
- Start with shorter plans (3-6 months) for better completion rates
- Follow up on the first missed payment immediately
- Use the AI Recommended Action panel for plan suggestions
